Edgewater Beach Apartments Exterior Wall Restoration, Chicago, Illinois

2001 - 2005

This $13 million restoration began with a condition assessment followed by structural probes to determine the cause for failure.  A phased restoration plan was implemented, involving complete reconstruction of the corners, and integration of new shelf angle supports at every fourth floor.  The stucco was renewed with Keim mineral coatings.  Completed while serving as Senior Associate with Johnson Lasky Architects.

 


Martin Mitchell Mansion Restoration
Naper Settlement, Naperville, IL

1999-2004
A complete Historic Structure Report was compiled, together with restoration recommendations and associated costs.  A four-year phased program of work in cluded  porch restoration, slate roof replacement, exterior wall and wood window restoration.  Interior restoration included MEP integration and decorative interior finishes recreation.  Completed while serving as Senior Associate with Johnson Lasky Architects.

 


Glessner House Museum  Chicago, IL

HSR and Restoration
2000 and 2006

As prescribed  in the Historic Structure Report, a phased restoration was envisioned fo rthis significant property designed by H.H. Richardson.  The Courtyard restoration was undertaken first, which included masonry cleaning and restoration together with wood window and door restoration.   Missing architectural features were recreated.  The Coach House was restored several years later, which included conservation of glazed brick and integration of custom lighting.  Work was completed while serving as Senior Associate with Johnson Lasky Architects.
